In 1949 two young men tired of their jobs at Norman Owens’ Boat Company, and decided to leave to form their own company. Jim McQueen and Harper Hull traveled to Troy, New York, where they bought the Cottrell-Spoore Boatworks, a small builder of wooden racing boats and runabouts. McQueen and Hull renamed the company “The Trojan Boat Company” and moved operations to York, Pennsylvania. By 1968 time Trojan facilities in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Elkton, Maryland, and Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, had made Trojan the second largest producer of inboard boat-builders in the world, building a complete line of wooden boats.
These vessels have been well loved for their amazing roominess. The Aft Cabin is MASSIVE and this vessel offers everything you will need for a live aboard or cruising in comfort.
Since 2011 she has undergoing a major retro-fit with all the bills and paperwork meticulously kept and available for viewing. A portion of the keel has been replaced, the transom stripped an varnished, teak decks refinished, new carpeting and headliners throughout, new aft deck enclosure, new mattresses, and much, more. The wood hull is sound and has been kept and re-finished.
This vessel has been cruised regularly and loved. She is regrettably up for sale in a must sell situation. Please bring all offers.
2013 update: major retrofit with complete hull striping/painting and hull repair
